As you can probably tell, we love words. They're powerful things - poetic, life-affirming, calming, energising, healing, maddening and magical.

Welcome Words is run by Rachel Kerr, who is a writer, qualified teacher and communications professional: 

 


   
  "Hello, I'm Rachel. Originally from the 
  North East, I grew up in rural Scotland and
  now live in  West Yorkshire, in between the
  River Aire and the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.  

  After a successful career in
  communications, I founded Welcome Words
  in order to share my love of poetry, story and
  illustration. 

  I hope to celebrate the personal, the individual
  and the downright quirky; and, in whatever
  way I can, to remind us, whatever our age or
  circumstance, how remarkable each one of us
  really is."
